VITILIGO Friends "VITFriends"

VITAMIGOS:

Professor: Jorge Luis Pérez Hidalgo is President of the Vitiligo Support and Research Group in Cuba known as “Vitamigos”.

Jorge was diagnosed with Vitiligo twenty years ago. Majored in English language Teaching at the Pedagogical University of Holguin Cuba Where also worked as a teacher of English for 5 years. He has also worked as professor of English at the School of Tourism for 20 years. He got a Master degree in Pedagogical Science in the University “Oscar Lucero Moya “of the same province. He has the university category of Assistant Professor. He has carried out several investigations and collaborated in research projects aimed at perfectioning the teaching –learning process.

He has experience in the tourism sector where he has developed most of his professional career. He has taken and taught different post graduate courses and trainings.

Since 2015 he has been actively involved in the leading of the Vitiligo Support and Research Group in order to combating vitiligo and improving quality of life for those affected by this neglected disease. He is a health promoter and coordinator of the Cuban Dermatology Patients Community.
