My name is Diane Tribitt. I've had Vitiligo since I was 10-years old and I'm now 55. Growing up so young with this disorder, I was teased a lot and called all kinds of names such as bleach eyes, spot, zebra, and many more and because of this, I didn't really like the skin that I was in. I cannot honestly say I don't still struggle with self-esteem issues, because I do. However, I've come a long way from where I began since being diagnosed. Education and awareness are still the keys to the ignorance some people have where it concerns those of us with Vitiligo. My goal is to do more to bring awareness every opportunity that I get on every platform that I stand upon. I am finally fulfiling many of my dreams that I didn't think were possible because of having Vitiligo but now, there is nothing beyond my reach and have made it my mission to promote healthy self-esteem in young girls, teens, and women through a campaign I began called "InHER Beauty". My age used to be a big factor in what I thought I could accomplish in my later years, but not even that can keep me from doing and being that which I was called to do and be. I'm a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, advocate, and friend...I'm actually finally learning to love the skin I'm in. I love who I am and understanding my purpose better each day so I go by D'Lyric in my writing and now 2 Shades of Beautiful too is my penned name.
